MYSTERIES OF THE HOLY ROSARY AND MEDITATIONS

JOYFUL MYSTERIES (Monday/Thursday/Sunday Advent)

1. THE ANNUNCIATION

 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus." (Luke 1:31) 

2. THE VISITATION

 When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. (Luke 1:41 

3. THE BIRTH OF JESUS

 And she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger. (Luke 2:7)

4. THE PRESENTATION IN THE TEMPLE

 And when the days for their purification according to Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord. (Luke 2:22) 

5. FINDING OF THE CHILD JESUS IN THE TEMPLE

 And He said to them. "Why is it that you sought me? Did you not know that I must be in My Father's house?" (Luke 2:49) SORROWFUL MYSTERIES (Tuesday/Friday/Sunday Lent) 

SORROWFUL MYSTERIES (Tuesday/Friday/Sunday Lent)

1. THE AGONY OF OUR LORD IN THE GARDEN

 And being in agony, He was praying very fervently; and His Sweat became like drops of blood, falling down on the ground. (Luke 22:44) 

2. OUR LORD IS SCOURGED AT THE PILLAR

 So Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them and, after he had Jesus scourged, handed Him over to be crucified. (Matthew 15:15) 

3. OUR LORD IS CROWNED WITH THORNS

 And after twisting together a crown out of thorns, they placed it on His Head, and a reed in His right hand; and they knelt before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail King of the Jews!" (Matthew 27:29) 

4. OUR LORD CARRIES THE CROSS

 They took Jesus therefore, and He went out, bearing His own Cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha. (John 19:17) 

5. THE CRUCIFIXION OF OUR LORD

 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His Head and gave up His Spirit. (John 19:30) 

GLORIOUS MYSTERIES (Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday Easter-Penteco

1. THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD

 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said." (Matthew 28:5-6) 

2. THE ASCENCION OF OUR LORD

 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19)v 

3. THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT UPON THE APOSTLES

 And there appeared to them tongues of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:3-4) 

4. THE ASSUMPTION OF MARY INTO HEAVEN

 "For behold, from this time on, all generations will count me blessed. For the Mighty One has done great things for me; And holy is His Name." (Luke 1:48-49) 

5. THE CORONATION OF MARY AS QUEEN OF HEAVEN AND EARTH

  A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head, a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12:1)
